Yesterday I was watching the news on TV
And there were stories about people doing terrible things to children.
There are too many devils in our world
With all these devils do you think our children will grow up to be good?

Children take off their clothes with ease 
And adults make money from this.
Who cares as long as it’s not me, as long as it’s not my child
Just cover your eyes to the rotting innocence of children.

Recently there was a man who kidnapped a school girl
In his drunk fit he violently killed her.
That man also has a daughter that’s very dear to him
And it makes me mad that his daughter is only 12.

Why do you make me sad?
Please don’t give up on the world.
Don’t make me sad.
Hopefully it won’t get any worse than this.

As I watch those people feel no guilt
I show tears to children I meet in my dreams.
The brutal truth of reality is a dark night filled with anxiety…
Just like the hearts of every parent in the world.

A dad hugs his daughter in the morning before leaving for work 
But the next time he sees her she’s in the emergency room.
His 7 year old daughter becomes a victim of rape
And she doesn’t remember why she’s in so much pain.

Her dad’s crying face looked so sad to her 
So she touched her dad’s cheeks and cried too.
The dad hugs his daughter multiple times
But in the morning the pain doesn’t subside.

Surgery after surgery, to a child this is torture
As time passes the daughter gradually recovers.
But on TV she sees that man’s evil face
And now her heart’s slowly dying again.

Why do you make me sad?
Please don’t give up on the world.
Don’t make me sad.
Hopefully it won’t get any worse than this.

Have you seen a child blue from bruises?
When a person comes near that child takes off their pants.
How did this happen? What did they do?
The child no longer cries instead trembles from fear.

There are so many things to fear so I can’t help being scared.
The world throws too many strange things at me.
“Everything is still good nothing has changed” 
I’d like to say that but my heart says otherwise.
